Kwoklyn Wan literally grew up in the kitchens of Chinese takeaways and restaurants; his playground was the kitchen store room with brother Gok, and as he got older, the beginning of his career as a chef, helping out with the washing up, peeling prawns or chopping vegetables. Kwoklyn is now a professional chef, restaurateur and regularly appears on radio and television as an expert on Chinese cuisine.

Kwoklyn grew up in his parent's Chinese restaurants in Leicester - together with his sister Oilen and brother Gok - and has been cooking most of his life. Chinese is the UK's favourite takeout food.
