Eat, Think, Grow: 10 Fun Food Things To Do This Summer
In Melissa Hemsley’s new fortnightly column, Eat, Think, Grow, she serves up practical ideas and inspiration for everyone who wants to leave a more positive impact on the planet.
“Your summer schedule might be filling up with barbecues, picnics, festivals, garden parties and seaside jaunts but, if you’re looking for something a bit different, here’s some food-based fun to have in the UK, come rain or shine.
Head to one of these legendary food festivals – Aldeburgh Food Festival in Suffolk, PX Plus Festival in Hertfordshire, Abargaveny in Wales and River Cottage in Dorset (and watch Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Anita Rani’s War on Plastic documentary on BBC). I’m also hoping to visit the Scilly Islands festival, 28 miles off the coast of Cornwall for its celebration of slow food and low-food miles.”
