Laura Taylor

Laura is a fine wine advisor and founding director of independent wine merchant Private Cellar. She has deep roots in the wine industry, starting out in Buenos Aires in the early 1990s with Bodegas Trapiche before working with the late John Avery MW in Bristol and spending seven years with the City-based wine merchant Corney & Barrow. Laura loves nothing more than visiting wine regions and cellars, forging strong connections and friendships with winemakers around the world, particularly in France, Spain, California and South Africa. Keen to share her love of wine and the stories from the vineyards, Laura heads up Private Cellar’s Women in Wine programme, which invites women to join on-line and in-person tastings and events to learn about wine in an approachable, non-judgemental way. She has helped women to understand and write about the gender imbalances in the wine trade and enjoys promoting wines produced by talented women around the globe. She also hosts masterclasses and tutored tastings for companies and private groups as well as university students and young people who are starting on their wine journey.
